One of the main features of the beautiful village of Adare, Co. Limerick is its thatched cottages which were built by the Third Earl of Dunraven. Because it is possible to see a collection of the cottages in any of these illustrations one can admire the wonderful random shapes and proportions that seem to be haphazard, yet link together in total harmony.
